Group Constable

The Group Constable is in effect the Group Health and Safety Officer.

The Group Constable is responsible to the Group to ensure that indemnities are signed at all events including anyone who is present at A&S nights with the 6-monthly Indemnities.

While the word Constable conjors up images of a modern day policeman that is not the primary area of responisibilities. The Group Constable should know of and be aware of the need to involve the Mundane Authorities when required.

A very good understanding of the SCA rules and regulations at events and the event rules is required along with good people skills to defuse possible conflicts. A softly spoken word can do wonders in the vast majority of cases because the vast majority of SCAdians are fair and reasonable people.

The Group Constable is directly responsible to the Kingdom Constable. The Group Constable makes a report to the Shire at each Monthly meeting and the Kingdom Constable in the End Of Reign reports. The reports are also sent to the Shire Seneschal.
