SCA Speaking

UNDER RECONSTRUCTION

How to talk at an Event.

Talking to anyone at an event should always be polite no matter what is happening. Always use a persons title - it shows respect. 'As you sow, so shall ye reap' could never be more true. Everyone is at least a lord or lady - even you! Be polite, be nice, be aware that some people take this game we play quite seriously because we are seriously trying to recreate a part of the past without any of the 'bad stuff'. By and large, we succeed and it is up to each person to help it succeed.

If you know a persons rank within the SCA, use it when you are at an event. Take a moment and think of their SCA name and then use it with their title. If you don't know someone or what rank they are, use "My Lord' or 'My lady' (M'lord or M'lady) when addressing them. You will find they will respond in kind. it's neat and part of the 'magic' that people often refer to.

If you drink alcoholic drinks, make sure you don't 'lose it' when you are under the influence. Always be polite. Always be respectful. Make a point of it.
